Spring Cleaning Isn’t Just for Your Home

Spring Cleaning Isn’t Just for Your Home

While many of us are starting our spring cleaning now, you shouldn’t feel limited to just cleaning out your home. While expanding to the garage is getting closer (and you really should clean out that garage), we’re talking specifically about your car. The team at Tiny’s Auto has some car cleaning tips for you now that spring is here.

Car Cleaning Tips

There are quite a few different things you can do to spring clean your car—feel free to leave some ideas down below in our comments—but these are some of the more important ones:

  • Wash Your Car: After a long winter, it’s important to get all of the dirt, grime, and salt off of your car, and while it can be tempting to simply go to a car wash and say everything is done, we suggest you do a nice hand wash (being sure to hit the wheel wells hard with the hose), and finish with a clear coat.
  • Change Your Tires: If you have winter tires on your vehicle, be sure to change them as soon as possible. While you can drive them during other seasons, they aren’t meant to be driven then and will have their lifespans cut drastically by doing so.
  • Switch Out Your Emergency Kit: We hope you had an emergency kit for winter, but you likely won’t be needing things like blankets and shovels in the summer months. Try instead water bottles, dry snacks, an extra cell phone charger (with car adapter), and a flashlight with batteries.
  • Detail Your Car: We saved this one for last, as we know that not everyone has the budget to take their vehicle in for professional detailing, but it can be one of the best ways to ensure your car is kept in top shape. The pros won’t just clean your car, they will help restore it to its natural, off-the-line beauty and make sure its materials stay in good condition for years to come.
